Submit to Umukarago, an online literary magazine published by Writers Space Africa-Rwanda (WSA-R). Umukarago is a Kinyarwanda word which means a line (particularly in poetry). We believe that each line or sentence of your literary work has the power to evoke emotions and touch the hearts of our readers. Our mission is to amplify the beauty and significance of your work, and to showcase the rich diversity and creativity of Rwandan and Rwanda-based writers and poets. The submission window for Issue 3 has closed as of March 15, 2024. Submissions are being reviewed by our editors. Who can submit? We accept submissions from writers and poets living in Rwanda or those of Rwandan descent living in the diaspora as well as foreign nationals residing in Rwanda. What kind of works are we looking for? Umukarago seeks works that are smart, new, creative, different, specific, experimental, somewhat rude at times, or ones that have interesting and well-informed opinions. To get a sense of our taste, we encourage you to read the works published in our past editions. The editorial team considers the following: Submission rules and guidelines
